The $230,000 grant awarded by the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) will aid in the city’s ongoing effort to improve traffic safety and the quality of life. An employee arriving at the location for work discovered an adult male who had sustained gunshot wounds inside a vehicle stopped in the parking area. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim, a male who appeared to be in his 50s, unresponsive inside the vehicle. A sport utility vehicle with a solo occupant was travelling westbound through the intersection, preparing to turn southbound on Gore Road. The vehicle was struck by a motorcycle travelling northbound through the intersection at the same time. Upon arrival they discovered a male, who appeared to be in his teens, unresponsive. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body. The seventeen year-old victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two shooting victims, a male adult and female adult, were located inside an apartment. The victim, a 33 year-old male, was transported to a hospital with injuries from multiple gunshot wounds to various parts of his body.
