ARREST IN RANCHO CORDOVA PROWLING CASE
On February 12, 2016, Rancho Cordova Police Officers arrested Sean Michael Deichler, 45, of Rancho Cordova in connection to the prowling call which occurred on the prior evening (February 11, 2016). Officers responded to a call from a citizen regarding a subject matching the description provided by social media and the neighborhood citizens news feed. Deichler was contacted by officers in a field west of Aristotle Circle in Anatolia. Deichler was detained, and after further investigation was determined to be the suspect connected to the prowling call.
A little before 10:00 p.m. on February 11, 2016, Rancho Cordova Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the area of the 11700 block of Bagota Way in Rancho Cordova. The investigation revealed an unknown male entered the backyard of a residence, and began to engage a young female child in conversation through her bedroom window. Another person in the house heard the voices, and noticed the subject in the backyard. The subject then fled the area. Officers responded and were unable to locate the subject after a lengthy search.
Deichler was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on misdemeanor charges of peeping and prowling. Deichler has since been released pending his scheduled arraignment in Sacramento Superior Court on March 14, 2016.
