The public and the Media is invited to join local and California Law Enforcement Officials in commemorating the officers who have given their lives in the line of duty in 2015.  The week of May 15-21, 2016, has been designated “National Police Week”, a time to honor officers who have fallen in the line-of-duty and in recognition of the sacrifice of those loved and left behind

On Thursday, April 28th at noon (12:00 p.m.), the 14th Annual Remembrance Ceremony will take place at the Sacramento Police & Sheriff’s Memorial, 500 Arden Way, Sacramento.  All of the fallen officers from the past 166 years of Sacramento’s Law Enforcement History will be recognized.

On Sunday, May 1st, the California Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation will be holding a Candlelight Vigil beginning at the California Peace Officers Memorial Monument, 10th Street and Capitol Mall, at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.).

On Monday, May 2nd, the California Peace Officers Memorial dedication ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the California Peace Officers Memorial Monument, 10th Street and Capitol Mall.
