The Rancho Cordova Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle accident that claimed one man’s life, and sent numerous other people to area hospitals with injuries. The incident occurred just before 11:15 p.m. on April 26, 2013, at the intersection of Folsom Boulevard and Sunrise Boulevard. Street closures at that location were expected to be in effect into the early morning hours.
Rancho Cordova police officers and Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the aforementioned location regarding numerous calls from people reporting the accident. A four year-old boy who was a passenger in the Range Rover was ejected from the vehicle, and thrown into the street. He sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the SUV, along with the four year-old boy and occupants from three other vehicles, were transported to various hospitals in the area to be treated for their injuries, none of which was believed to be life-threatening.This incident is being investigated by the Rancho Cordova Police Department’s Traffic Motor Unit.
