Make A WishThe Rancho Cordova Police Department’s Police Activities League (PAL), in partnership with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Explorer Post #517, are proud to announce the third annual Cops Cuffing Cancer Fundraiser. This year’s beneficiary is the Make a Wish Foundation. We have adopted three Make a Wish candidates. Meet Biannca, age 10 who suffers from Leukemia and wishes to go on a Disney Cruise. Meet Curtis, age 12, who suffers from Hurler Disease, and wishes to go to Disney World. Meet Logan, age 4 who suffers from Leukemia and wishes to go to Disney World. PAL and the Explorers have partnered with some of the dynamic youth in the Rancho Cordova area, including the PAL/FCCP Youth Leadership Council, Mills Middle School Leadership class, the Mitchell Middle School Leadership class and the Cordova High Community Service and Leadership Development class. The youth are working hard to make these wishes come true, but they need your help. Go to our website at: http://MAW.kintera.org/RCPDAdoptAWish and make a contribution. Or you can participate by being “arrested”. We will create a Wanted Poster and website for you and your family and friends can help support our Wish candidates by posting money towards your “bail”. Then come out on Friday, October 28th, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, to our “jail” for some great photo opportunities and to give your friends and family a chance to see you in your new habitat. The Jail and Bail will be in the Kmart Parking lot, at Zinfandel Drive and Sunrise Boulevard. We will also be hosting a “Wish” party for Logan, at the new Rancho Cordova Police Department Stationhouse, on Sunday, October 23rd, 2011 at 2:30 pm. The Police Department is located at 2897 Kilgore Road, Rancho Cordova and all are welcome. Logan will get a chance to meet all the youth and other members of the community who have been working hard to make his wish come true. For any questions or additional information, please feel free to contact Officer Shelly Hodgkins (916) 524-0935 or Officer Bruce Smith (916) 708-3209. Get Arrested….And Make a Wish Come True!
