DUI CheckpointThe Rancho Cordova Police Department will be holding a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Sobriety Checkpoint on Friday, February 22, 2008, in the City of Rancho Cordova. The checkpoint will be operational that night from 8:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. the following morning. Officers will be checking drivers for signs of impairment and providing educational materials outlining the dangers of driving while impaired. This checkpoint operation will be conducted utilizing funds from a traffic safety grant provided to the Rancho Cordova Police Department by the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). A briefing will be held at 7:00 p.m., prior to the start of the operation, at the Rancho Cordova Police Department, 10361 Rockingham Drive, Rancho Cordova. Media representatives are welcome and encouraged to attend.
