As an explorer, you will be exposed to and trained in:

- State laws and local ordinances
- Conflict mediation
- Physical fitness/ Nutrition
- Personal safety/ Self-defense tactics
- Ethical decision making

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department in partnership with the Rancho Cordova and Folsom Police Departments are offering opportunities for teenagers and young adults to become actively involved in the community in which they live, learn, and play. Community Service helps to build a sense of ownership and pride in your community as you take an active role in matters that personally affect you community. Being an Explorer also promotes personal growth, character development, self-esteem, and self-respect.
