Click here to see if your vehicle has been towed by the Rancho Cordova Police Department or the Sacramento Sheriff's Department. Vehicles will usually appear in the search within two hours of being towed.
For towed vehicles, pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 22852, you are entitled to a hearing to determine the validity of the tow. Contact the Traffic Bureau at (916) 876-7625 to schedule a hearing or you may also submit your request in writing.
Vehicles are released Monday thru Friday, 9am to 4:00pm. We are closed weekends and holidays. To obtain a release, the registered owner of the vehicle must bring a copy of the current registration, a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and $152 in cash, money order, Visa, or MasterCard to the Rancho Cordova Police Department, located at 2897 Kilgore Road.
This fee does not include charges for towing and storage that must be paid to the tow company that is storing the vehicle.
If the registered owner does not have a valid driver's license, they must bring photo identification and a licensed driver. The tow company is required to give the registered owner access to the vehicle to remove personal property only. If your vehicle has been repossessed, call the Sacramento Sheriff's Department at 874-5377 to obtain a repossession release.
