The suspect, in this case, was identified as 20-year-old Damion Horton. Earlier this afternoon, Horton was arrested after turning himself in at the Sacramento County Main Jail. Horton was booked for murder and is currently being held without bail due to his charges.
During the course of this investigation, detectives discovered there were friends and family members of Horton concealing him from law enforcement and helping him evade capture.
One of the people suspected of providing aid to Horton was his Mother, 37-year-old Yolanda Smith of Sacramento. Smith was arrested early this morning for being an accessory after the fact and a violation of her probation status. Smith is also being held in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail and is ineligible for bail at this time due to her charges.
