Double Homicide in North Highlands

On March 30, 2019, at 9:20 P.M., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting at a retail business complex in the 5200 Block of Elkhorn Boulevard in Foothill Farms.

While deputies responded, reports indicated there were two people shot at the location. Based on the information received, the fire department was immediately requested by the Sheriff’s Communications Center.

Upon arrival, deputies located two male victims and found citizens were already performing CPR on one of the victims. The deputies began assisting with CPR and providing first aid. Personnel from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department arrived and transported one of the victims to an area hospital and the other victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim transported by fire personnel later died at the hospital.

Deputies began investigating and speaking with witnesses while working to secure the scene.

Homicide Detectives responded to the location and along with Crime Scene Investigators are attempting to piece together the details of what occurred. At this point, detectives have not developed a description of the suspect or suspects responsible for these murders and nor have they developed a motive. Witnesses indicated an argument could be heard prior to the shooting.

Personnel from the Sheriff’s Office will remain on the scene throughout the night and into the early morning hours. There are no road closures in the area as a result of this incident.

The identity of the victims, in this case, will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification has been made to their next of kin.
