On November 29, 2018, at 8:22 P.M., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Communication Center received a 911 call from a residence in the 7100 block of Flanders Way in north Sacramento. The caller indicated there was a person shot at the location.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded and upon their arrival, located two male victims who sustained gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment. One of the shooting victims is expected to survive however, the other, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Sheriff’s Department Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and are investigating; attempting to determine exactly what occurred. At this point, detectives have not identified a motive for the shooting and do not currently have any suspects in custody.
Sheriff’s Department personnel have secured the scene and do not believe there is any further threat to the neighborhood at this time.
The identity of the deceased victim, in this case, will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office after notification has been made to his next of kin.
