Rancho Cordova Will Enforce Its Ban on Illegal Fireworks

Report Violators Online or by Phone

Maximum enforcement against illegal fireworks will be in effect during the July 4th season. Violations can result in citations of up to $10,000. The city’s illegal fireworks enforcement team will be actively patrolling for those who violate the illegal fireworks ordinance, and this includes the use of drone enforcement.

“Safe and Sane” fireworks are legal fireworks that can be purchased from temporary permitted fireworks vendors between June 28 and July 4 and are marked by the “Safe and Sane” Seal. Make sure to follow safety procedures when using Safe and Sane fireworks, since the unsafe use of fireworks can have devastating effects, including fire-related property damage and severe injuries.

Residents can now report illegal fireworks online through Rancho Cordova Connect or by calling the Rancho Cordova Police Department non-emergency line at 916.362.5115. If there is a fire or other emergency, call 9-1-1. Learn more.

Keep Your Pets Safe

Pets become frightened by the loud sounds from fireworks. Keep your pets indoors or keep them leashed and under your direct control at all times. Call the city’s Animal Services team at 916.851.8852 to report any pets who have gotten loose.
