City to Implement Innovative Traffic Calming Measures

Post Date:06/26/2025 10:34 AM

The city’s Public Works team is implementing a range of traffic calming measures along Lincoln Village Drive and on Baroque Drive to improve safety and livability in our neighborhoods. Here is what residents can expect in the coming weeks.

In Lincoln Village:

Beginning this week, construction will begin in the Lincoln Village neighborhood to install traffic calming measures along Lincoln Village Drive. Improvements will be made at Explorer Drive, Viking Drive, Virgo Street and Sunrise Pines Drive.

Improvements will include new medians, curb bulb-outs and a roundabout at the intersection of Lincoln Village Drive and Explorer Drive.

During project construction, there will be occasional “No Parking” zones. “No Parking” signs will be placed along the street 72 hours ahead of any street closures.

The first phase of the project is currently under construction and is anticipated to be complete in Summer 2025.

On Baroque Drive:

The city is also implementing traffic calming measures on Baroque Drive.

Project enhancements will include a surface treatment and striping, enhanced crosswalks, lane narrowing and bike lane improvements along the entire corridor. There will also be a mini roundabout installed at the Kilgore Road and Baroque intersection.

This project is current under construction and will be complete in Summer 2025.

In the Lincoln Village and Stone Creek neighborhoods, during project construction, please plan for additional drive time and travel the areas with caution.
